Side-note: This joke plays well for people who have "View File Extensions" turned off. This is a reference to the original sonic.exe game, as the file name for the original sonic.exe game is the same. The name of the file is "Sonic.exe" (including a file extension). In "Sunshine", BF gets hung by a noose, breaking his neck. In "Milk," if the player gets a game over, BF dances with Sunky.MPEG while "You're on Blast" repeats endlessly in the background. Retrying has the hands close together, crushing Boyfriend and turning the screen red before restarting the song. Getting a Game Over in “Too Slow, You Can't Run, and Triple Trouble” has Sonic.EXE's head appear in the background, while his hands surround Boyfriend. During "Chaos", Instead of Fleetway shooting a singular laser, Laser Notes will appear requiring the player not to note press any of the notes to dodge it. The arrows and boyfriends oncoming arrows fade in when Tails Doll is singing and fades out when he stops singing. During "Sunshine", the screen will darken around the middle of the song, with only Tails Doll in the center of the screen. During "Endless", the arrows will sometimes spin quickly, syncing up with one of the sound effects used in the track.
Whenever the player has at least 1 ring and takes damage, a ring gets taken instead. These rings add to a ring counter in the bottom right of the screen.
The rings from "Triple Trouble" scroll up to the any of the four notes.none of these, however, will consume a ring.Rings will only block damage taken from missing notes. Even if the player has a ring, they can still take damage from other sources. The health bar will drain faster if the player keeps pressing them, as their effects stack into one. Pressing these notes will drain the player's health, similar to the black notes in Onslaught (Bob). During "You Can't RUN", as well as "Triple Trouble", phantom notes appear. The static notes will also drain a lot of the player's health if the player misses them.
While both instances of static don't serve much purpose outside of visual distractions, the player can potentially chain together static from the static notes if the static throws them off too much.
During "Too Slow", static naturally appears throughout the song and it appears red and more obnoxious when missing a static note. It is currently unknown why an intro hasn't been made for the level "Too fest" doesn't have any sort of intro. This references the original Sonic The Hedgehog game, in which level names were presented in this manner. In the beginning of most songs (barring "Chaos", "Too Fest", and "Sunshine"), instead of the usual "3 2 1 GO", the player gets a black screen in which a circle and text for the song name come from both of the sides.
